Ed's Book Reviews

Below are reviews from my first book. If you buy one of my books, I will post your kind review on this web page.

Responsive & Interactive

"Wolf on the Lake" is an engaging delight to read. The playful interaction of young amateurs, staid professionals, and contemporary threats recalls the best of the beginnings of the modern suspense novelists such as Erskine Childers' early 20th century "Riddle of the Sands" or John Buchans' "The Thirty Nine Steps", and carried on in the stories of suspense story tellers such as Lionel Davidson, Michael Gilbert, and Peter Lovesey. Ed Thilenius has a keen eye for local circumstances in the modern South, celebrating its brash eccentricities without descending into the Gothic of previous generations of Southern writers. I'm looking forward to the next installment of the adventures of the Cotter brothers with as much enthusiasm as I remember looking forward to the next tale of the Hardy boys or James Bond or Frodo Baggins. Cheers for Ed Thilenius and his lively imagination and brisk tales of adventures happening in our very midst.

This was the first book I've read on an iPad and I couldn't put it down before I finished. The character and plot development is truly fascinating. I became so involved in the book that I read it in one day. I highly recommend this book, buy it and you won't regret it.

Wider Scope

First book I've ever ordered on Amazon. This is a fascinating book! I'm on chapter 11 already. There are so many descriptions in the book to which I can relate my own childhood and takes me back there so clearly. Pretty neat book cover too!

This was a really great book. I loved the three different stories that converged into the main story ending. It made things very interesting. I read a lot of books and love mystery books and I always try to determine how it will end to see if I am right. The way the story was written made it harder to determine the end until I read it. I love books that can do that. Can't wait to read some more.
